Conception begins with getting pregnant by choosing the right time to have sexual intercourse to increase the chance of pregnancy. Ovulation prediction test can be used to accurately determine when woman is ovulating and to predict the best time to have sexual intercourse to increase your chance of getting pregnant.

Infertility problems may exist that prevent couples from getting pregnant. Infertility problems can be caused by many factors such as female infertility and male infertility. Female infertility may be caused by failure to ovulate at regular intervals and male infertility may be caused by low sperm count and reduce sperm motility that lower the chance of woman getting pregnant.

Advanced reproductive technologies have made getting pregnant possible for couples with infertility problems. Artificial insemination (AI) such as intrauterine insemination (IUI), In Vitro Fertilization (IVF), or Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) can be used to assist couples with infertility problems and to increase a woman’s chance of conception.

In some cases couples that do not have infertility problems and are able to get pregnant successfully does not always results in childbirth. A miscarriage or spontaneous abortions may occur and terminate the pregnancy.

However, many unwanted pregnancy occurs even when couples are using contraceptives but they may not be using it correctly or consistently. When unplanned pregnancy occurs most couples choose to have the baby and many also choose to have elective abortion.

A mother’s good health is important for ensuring healthy pregnancy and development of the fetus. Pregnant mother can maintain good health with exercising, good nutrition, and plenty of rest. Pregnant mother should avoid ingesting substances such as drugs, alcohol, tobacco and certain medication that can be damaging to the fetus and caused birth defects.

The development of the fetus takes nine months or forty weeks since the time of conception. There are three stages of childbirth and usually a mother would give birth to the child during the second stage of labor.

Since the time of conception to carrying the pregnancy for forty weeks and finally giving birth to the child, a mother’s overall health is completely depleted from the entire process. Postpartum care is required to ensure mother is care for immediately after childbirth to help her body heal and to restore her health back to pre-pregnancy.

Getting Pregnant According to the work performed by Wilcox in 1995 that getting pregnant is most likely to occur when you have sexual intercourse for up to 6 days before and including ovulation.

ICSI Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) is a process by which a single sperm is injected directly into the egg to increase the chance of fertilization.
